Why haven’t I gotten better after trying many options? We have all heard the message Core retraining is the way to manage pain. And this is the correct message. If you are in pain, the problem is deciding which Core exercise should you perform and in what order. Both the specific exercise and the order in which the exercises are added is very important in having success. We provide pain relief and recovery through the use of exercise specifically chosen for each client’s personal presentation. We have over thirty years of experience using pain relieving techniques and pain relieving exercise. This knowledge combined with many research based principles allow for effective treatment selection. Momentum Physical Therapy & Wellness is able to capture recovery for many people all because of how much we know about the Core.
What if I have already had Core exercise based treatments which didn’t work or made the situation worse? We have developed Core retraining protocols to use for pain relief. If you have not been helped or even worsened with Core retraining exercises, you probably went through a Core program designed for people who do not have chronic pain or complicated pain conditions.
Why do I get relief but never find recovery? We have excellent understanding when assessing the Core for weakness which allows us to establish an effective plan for each person. You rarely need more than 3 exercises to start to feel relief. Proper rebuilding of Core musculature is how recovery is received. If you think you already received Core retraining and don’t have the return to your normal lifestyle, there is a missing piece in your strength building.
What does “hands on” Physical Therapy mean?In your search and research for pain recovery, you have probably noticed the phrase “hands on approach” or “hands on treatments.” Hands on physical therapy is not required for everyone. Some clients can fully recover with exercise alone. Other clients will not ever recover without the Physical Therapist performing some type of hands on methods (cupping, joint care, soft tissue massage, instrument assisted massage) to reduce inflammation and restore proper blood flow to the painful regions.
What if my case is really complicated? What if I haven’t had any help for my condition and it seems to be getting worse? How are you different?Beth Andrews has 32 years of experience as a physical therapist. She has built her career using exercise methods that reduce pain and now she has built her own system. The staff at Momentum does not manage pain with the “no pain, no gain” principle. Beth often tells her clients if you are exercising in pain, you are only exercising your pain. No benefit is occurring. This is especially true in the beginning of a client’s program. Once a person is reporting over 50% relief, it is okay to push through a little bit of pain if necessary on the way towards recovery. We are not the right answer for everyone but do have a high percentage of success returning clients to a life of pain free ability with the system of exercise progression at Momentum. We have proven results which has earned us the right to tell clients they should expect to do well as many other complex cases have done well with our treatment philosophy.
What if I have had injections? How does that work with Physical Therapy? We see patients who have had injections, and there are times when we may suggest you see a spine specialist for assistance. We will work with your healthcare team to get the care you need.
What health plans do you accept?AARP, Tricare, aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Medicare, Humana Military, Cigna, Optum, United Healthcare

We will inform you of your rates if you are out-of-network. We understand the balance of healthcare costs and the importance of getting pain relief and recovery. Our physical therapy treatments are based on what you need and your payment options can be tailored to suit your needs.
